Default I apologize...I have failed you all

A friend of mine was looking for a fun car, and wanted to stay under $30K. I of course, recommended an A4 1.8T w/ mods, then a 2.8 since he did not want to risk his warranty.
He knows I love my car, and appreciates the security of Quattro, but ended up buying a 2000 328is instead.

Given that he didn't care about the added risk of surviving a NJ winter in a rwd car, and was sold on the 'ultimate driving experience' of a BMW, it was an easy decision for him. Another reason why he didn't get the A4 is because the current body will be obsolete in a few months...he loves the new A4's styling, but wasn't able to wait for it

No flames please, I'm sure he will love his BMW, and with a set of snow tires, he should be fine in the winter, but I do wish I had been able to convince him to get an Audi...what else could I have said to change his mind?

Default you could have said that even people on welfare can afford BMW's these days... dont be a follower =x

The driving experience isn't all that great to begin with.

Default bmws are cool

it all depends on what you want in a car and what you can afford.

Default BMW's are like *ssholes everybody's got one. :) Sounds like he could of gotten a nice car with

quattro for a better price. Did he even drive an Audi? Most times people go right for the BMW because they see them around and know it's a status symbol. Audi can bring all the things a bimmer can with less damage to the wallet.

Yep, a friend of mine is trying to unload his 323 for a A4 2.8 right now. Anyone interested? Lol!

Default I've never been disappointed by any German car I've driven....

Though I'll say one of the most disappointing things about the BMWs is their pricing... they've got to wake up and smell the coffee. Course I just bought an A4 so you all know where my dollar loyalty is.
