I'm not a big fan of street racing, especially when other cars are around, but this event took place when no other cars were around. And besides, I'm getting sick of seeing all the fighting on this board regarding tuners, chips, and timeslips--hey guys we all love our cars. How 'bout a little peace between us all?

Anyway...
I was coming up a twisty uphill road this morning (Torrey Pines for all those who know San Diego) and this M roadster was tailing me. I'm hitting 70-75 in the first turn and he's right on me. Then I heard him downshift (my sunroof was open) and I knew it was over. He disappeard from my rearview mirror and flew by. I was gonna try to keep up with him but he got a little squirrely on the second turn--I could see him wrestling with the wheel. That was enough for me--if he lost it I would have T-boned/plowed into him. The whole incident reminded me of the aforementioned line from Top Gun.

...and I couldn't keep up with a silver M roadster a few weeks back who was nice enough to let me catch up, and he gave me a thumbs up and a smile. I respond like wise and off he goes on his merry little way.
