Default I don't care what anyone says... I like this tire.

It's the Yokohama Parada, and people have been ripping it up and down. I'm not really sure why - maybe it looks "too ricey" or something, but I think it's sharp.

I looked up the specs on TireRack, and I don't understand why this tire gets such a bad rap. Check this out...

The government gives this tire a rating of "300 A A"

The 300 means that the tread life is very good for a high performance tire. The first A means that it has EXCELLENT wet-weather performance, and the second A means that it runs well even when hot - obviously, if it's a Z-rated tire.

What have you people read about this tire - good or bad?

From my personal experience. Yokohama's are loud tires.

Default According to Tire Rack, the parada's are basically a...

...cosmetic tire. Meaning more for looks than performance. If that's what your after then go for it.

Default I don't see anything on the Tire Rack site that indicates that. What info do you have & what's...

your source. I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just want to get the straight scoop on this tire.

Default I'm running RE730's (300 tread rating)

Yes, 300 is a hard rubber compound, but, I have 5-Auto-X's (16 runs) 3 track events (5 days) and a total of maybe 7000+ miles on them, and there is still overall tread, and shoulder tread well within safety measures.

I will go to Pole Positions for my next tires, and "maybe" get a set of race compound and switch at events. But, I tell ya, it is so nice after a day at an event just to load up and drive off!

So, getting a good all around tire, and just expect to get new ones in maybe 10K miles aprox works for me. Saving the hassle of swapping tires, bagging up and loading the track tires back into the car after a long adrenelin fueled day, I think Pole Positions will do the trick! just my $0.05

Audi on!!
ps. Parada seem decent to me!?

Default Go to the wheel and tire guide and ask Ed from Tire Rack..

.. He moderates the forum. Ask him. He's a great source for any wheel and tire questions you have.

Believe or not, even manufacturer litterature sometimes touts the "aggressive look" of a tire
