I don't wanna spend more than about $200-250.00 what's the best radar detector for that $$$ ?

So far I have no complaints with it. Very comparable if not better than the 8500...No flames please.
Other one would be bel980. Also 300 but I think you can find it on the web for like 220.

Wanted a mid-range radar detector to replace the cheaper one I already had. Then one day I got a ticket. Payed $100 in court fees and $100 to take defensive driving. I'm sure a V1 could of saved me from that ticket (my cheapo detector went BLEEEEP a bit too late). I decided that the extra $150 for a V1 wasn't so expensive after that, considering it would save me from tickets. And it DEFINATELY has. Out of all the modifications I've done for my cars over time, the V1 is definately the only one I've never thought twice about. The other day my V1 warned me of a speed trap about a mile in advance, around a turn, over the crest of a hill. The car right next to me was pulled over; that would have been me if it weren't for V1. Trust me, spend the extra cash and get a V1, it WILL pay for itself.
