Last friday on 23rd street making a left into a parking garage by 6th ave and wham! Dominos delivery guy royally f*&ks up my fender...
Just got off the phone with the body shop about fixing it... they said they have to blend the hood and door to get everything to match.... are they for real?
I really dont want to see the quote... and come to think of it neither does the Domino's manager.

When you're getting a panel like a fender repaired/repainted, then yes, blending into the doors and hood (or touching panels) will be necessary to get the color differences to, well, blend in.
The only times when I have seen a repair job like this not require blending is when my friend (who runs a paint shop) showed me how well Sikkens paint works. I was amazed to see that the paint they had laid down matched the paint that was from the factory.
Sorry to hear about your accident!! Hope everything works out...

A friend of mine had a kid on a BMX hit him at full tilt from the side. (Bounced off pretty hard and made a dent the size of a garbage-can lid.) After verifying that the kid was okay, he contacted the father in the hopes of getting damages paid for, as insurance wouldn't cover this sort of thing because it was an underage kid. Didn't recieve one nickel for the pain; had to fix truck out of his own pocket. Hope this story makes you feel better....

I'm not really too sure why it matches so well- I'll have to ask him what the secret is.
One thing that I definitely like about Sikkens (and why I'd use it if I ever repainted my car)- The sealer coat (coat that goes on before actual paint- most people refer to it as "primer") is the same color as the actual paint. If or when the paint gets chipped, it is less noticable, which is nice. Also, it's got a lifetime warranty, and it seems to withstand weather quite well![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
