dont plan right now to do anything else with my engine since im going to college soon. So APR or GiAC with tip chip?

Default Go with a local tuner
If there is a local tuner go with what they sell (APR, GIAC, Neuspeed, etc). If there isn't one locally, it would probably be easiest to get the GIAC with the tip at the same time. You do not need the GIAC chip for their tip chip to work.

Default From what I have been told, if anything, it should actually last longer with the tip chip..
less slippage, keeping the oil cooler etc..

curious then...why wouldn't Audi put it in there to begin with? Not smooth shifts?
