Default I have a predicament that is quite the PITA

First of all I use my ashtray for storing my coins when not in use. A while ago one of them fell out and went underneath the unit as a whole. Now I cannot close my tray because this coin is blocking something from going on in there. Does anybody know how to take the unit apart so I can finally remove this coin and have a closed ashtray/coin holder once again? TIA

Default might have to:

pop out the radio to be able to easily pop out the HVAC and unscrew the two bolts holding the ashtray assembly. really easy.

Default Or just pop off the Shift Plate.

Then the coin should fall down and you could fish it out.

No tools required :-)

Default get one of those expandable magnetic rods....(cont)

they are used to pick up nuts and bolts that get dropped into tight places. That could probably get that coin out without having to take anything apart.

Default I ended up just pulling the whole unit out and there was the quarter.

It popped right back in too. Easier than I thought!

Default i had to pull my entire center console to get the ash tray assy out...

had to get to the 2 metal clips under the dash. guess it depends on what year your car is... that's how my '96 is... not sure how much they differ on the newer dashes with the concert radios, etc.
