I have searched but can't find a tech article for chaning spark plugs in a 1.8t

Default nice. Good, they refer to the 1.8T coils as ignition coils (no packs). Drop the "pack" folks :)

Unless you have a 2.8 V6, that's a coil pack

Default even the FAQ is not quite informative>>>

it says 'remove the coil packs' but doesn't explain you need a 5mm hex to do that.
two of those screws on each coil pack, and i suggest doing one at a time. remove, replace, go to next one.
i've always found that the bosch plugs (F7LTCR) are properly gapped out of the box.
5/8 plug socket on a long extension and you've got it done.
