Default What headlights do you have?

1-piece or 2-piece? If 2-piece, no, you don't want to put Xenons in there. If 1-piece, yes it's possible. Here's a write-up on adding non-OEM ballasts to S4 housings:

Good luck.

Default Some of the A6s have H1 bulbs I think.

You want to check to make sure. Not sure if the xenons are H1 or just the halogens. The issues is the bulb holder. And I htink Andy_TN wants to know what headlights you have in your A4. The two piece headlights are pretty worthless for HID lighting.

Default Then the bulb holder is H7.

So the A6 xenon bulbs wont fit with out some sort of adapter. I know there are H7 to D2S adapters but the A6 xenon bulbs might be H1 so you will have to swap the projectors out of the A6 housings and into your A4 housings, which is posible. You can see that the projectors are held in by screws. The projectors are three pieces. A front piece, a back piece and a thin cut off. They front and back are held together by 4 clips (two on top two on bottom). Take the screws off, take the clips of and remove the pieces one at a time. Hope this helps.

Default Yes, you can transfer the Xenon components over to your 1-piece housings.

However, since your 1-piece housings are non-Xenon, you'll have to get some sort of conversion kit to get the D2S Xenon bulb to go where the H7 bulb goes. Also the bottom of your housing will not have the opening as pictured in my write-up.

YGM.

Default Yes.

Xenon bulbs are either D2S or D2R. H1 = halogen, so they wouldn't be H1. Since there's a projector in the A6 housing, I'm going to go with a D2S (vs. D2R which is used in a reflective housing like an Acura TL).
