I just tried to swap the Bosch 317cc TT injectors in for the stock ones & they don't fit. Help.

The 317cc injectors are too short by about a half inch & they will not seat into the intake manifold because they are not round like the stock ones.
I thought they were suppossed to me a direct swap, but apparently not.
The length issue can be taken care of by changing the fuel rail mounting tabs I guess, but what about seating them? Do I need no inserts to go into the intake manifold? It seems like I do.
Does anyone have any ideas how to make this work?
Thanks.
