Fine, but it just seems like there is too much sarcasm and negative energy on this board lately

Don't confuse sarcasm with negativity. If you recall, the replies to your initial post were not negative on the whole (in fact, they weren't even sarcastic, really).

If you read my first reply to you, for example, you should note that not only did I agree with your concerns about racism, etc, but also addressed many of your concerns as best I could.

Please remember that you are coming to a forum filled with a group of car enthusiasts who have met many of the other members in person. When that happens, the members begin to treat each other more like buddies during the day, rather than unknown entities on a computer screen.

When you posted, the replies varied considerably, but all-in-all, as I read them over, I see both what was meant, and what you likely took them to mean (based on your replies). Please; don't forget the atmosphere you are now in. You were treated as a buddy, pal, whatever you'd like to call it.

As such, many things were left unsaid, but were still implied (a smiley face to connote a joke, etc...). I am truly sorry if you were offended or felt attacked by replies to your post -- I haven't found many posts in this message that read as true attacks.

All the best,
Josh

Default You third paragraph explains it all very well.

In fact, even why I had NOT met a lot of these forum members, I was able to jibe them freely.

I haven't met Dave, Ed, or Chris, and they're three of the ones that regularly trade barbs with me. It's all in the name of good humor.

Gotta have a think skin, this IS the internet after all. :-P
