i need the 4 torx screws that hold the two bars of the shifter assembly down, how do i find?

I would probably use a phillips head bolt...
IIRC, there isn't a lot of room down there to fit a socket around the head of the bolt...a screwdriver, OTOH, would be much easier.

a hex cap head bolt is not what you're thinking about,....
sorry, i should've called it a "socket" hex cap head bolt, for clarity. a socket hex cap head bolt is like a bicycle watter bottle cage bolt, if you know what that looks like. head is compact relative to shaft diameter, and you use a hex driver, there's even a style called bondhus that is ball shaped on the end, so's you can drive'em off axis. the key is that you can torque them properly, like a torx, like a standard bolt. you cannot "torque" a phillips head (except maybe, kinda sorta, phillips pozi-drive #3, like on ski bindings).

Ah yes...good suggestion! (even easier to get access)
One issue...most of those cap head bolts are machined with fine threading. I haven't seen any that have the "courser" threading, typically found on wood screws. The bolts that hold those two bars down bite into plain old plastic, as such, they have that course threading. Have you seen hex cap bolts that offer the kind of threading he'll need?

aahhhh,....
i just figured since they were torx, they were bolts, not screws. torque is non-issue, slap some reguler phillips screws in there, with a little loc-tite, maybe. and btw, i just added my sig pic
