about? Why even own the A4 now?
You are right in your assumption that chipping will affect the longevity of your car. This doesn't mean your car will have trouble, just that you are increasing the likelihood.
Remember that you will still need to spend on things like tires ($$$), and after the free scheduled maintenance, you will hve to pay yourself. Emergencies pop up when you expect it the least. Save some money.

I have been planning to quit working and going back to school for about four years. I saved up enough money to pay up my mortgage three years and purchase a new car so as to not worry about expenses related to maintenance of the vehicle. I choose the Audi based on reliability reports and free scheduled oil changes ect. I had a pretty good plan going until October when the stock market started to decline. Since then my income to support myself during school has effectively halved, so I have to be much more frugal than I originally intended. The money I am spending on mods now and in the future is money I budgeted months ago. Saving is not the problem, staying with in my budget when it was unexpectedly cut in half is.
