So i put my tranny back in today and after im all done i get in the car and shifter is pushed all the way foreward and stuck in a gear. I could push it a little more foreward to get it in nuetral but not in anthing else. I suspect it has to do with the pivot arm that hooks up to the tranny. I installed it on the whole closer to the front of the car according to the picture. Did i install it in the right one? There was another possible mount towars the rear of the car. Anyone else have this problem. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Loosen the upper linkage that connects to the shifter arm and place everything in the middle of the slots
Place the TRANSMISSION in neutral. even though the shift **** might show that it is in first, just put the shifter to whatever position corresponds to neutral on the transmission.
Loosen the upper linkage that connects to the base of the shifter arm. (note where the shifter is located cause you will need it in the step below)
Go below the car and loosen the lower linkage. readjust this linkage so your upper linkage will correspond to neutral. So if the upper linkage was in the 1st gear position while you know the transmission is in neutral you need to move the linkage forward and clockwise when looking at the linkage head on. This in turn will correspond to your shifter am moving backwards and towards the 5th/reverse side.
Now go back up and adjust the upper linkage so everything matches up 1st on the shifter to first on the transmission and so on.
It might take a couple of tries. so just prop the car up on some jacks and be careful and patient.
Good luck.

from JH motorsport. I just had 1 installed by Jason himself and am also testing another part for the B5 A4 shift linkage that is made to stiffen up the shift linkage even more. It replaces the part where that damn allen bolt is located and even comes with a standard hex head bolt which makes it easier to install or remove. I am sure Jason will be posting up pics and info soon for the new part.
