I opened up my brake fluid resovoir and it was a little murky/moldy.

Is there any reason why this happened and do i just need to flush (bleed) it? I saw no known issues in the archives.
Any suggestions or intructions please.

The brake fluid is hygroscopic. That means over time it will absorb moisture out of the air. Moisture in the brake fluid can and will make the brake fluid boil under hard braking, which will result in diminshed brake power, or loss of brakes. Dirt and water will also cause corrosion in the brake system, and can damage the sensitive ABS sensors.
Have it done, or follow the instructions on this site for bleeding the brake. Use only the correct brake fluid for your car (it says on the brake fluid reservoir). You need probably DOT 4 brake fluid.

You should find plenty info on how to bleed the brake fluid.
In short: You remove some fluid from the reservoir with a turkey baster or similar, replace it with fresh fluid, then bleed each caliper (requires a second person to push the brake pedal or a pressure bleeder) until clean, fresh, and bubble-free brake fluid comes out. And you have to keep an eye on the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir: top it off as necessary.

you take it to a place that has a power flush system. the abs unit is not easy to get the fluid to drain from with only gravity. if your fluid is in bad shape this failure to drain the fluid from the abs unit may cause it to fail prematurely.

...and if you have a bleeder kit (pressure or vacuum) you're set - its a one man job.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1295237.phtml">Jasyns sea monkeys</a></li></ul>
