I know what you're thinking. STUPID!!!
I should have walked away, but this was the Friday after Thanksgiving and I wanted to change the oil over the weekend. I haven't located a source other than the dealer for the 2.8 filter. Does anyone know if Auto Zone now carries a filter for the 2.8 12V? If not, I'll at least plan ahead in the future and order from Clair.
By the way, the dealer was Rusnak Westlake. I've purchased filters in the past from Ogner for $17 - still pretty steep.

Why are they so expensive? Must be gold plated or something.
You can try GPR Parts (for OEM) or you local AutoZone for Mobil 1 ($10). Clair is good too... can't go wrong.
Hmm... I would think there isn't a difference between the 12v and 30v filter. Correct me if I am wrong.

I was going to change my oil also. The 7500 miles between oil changes seems a bit long. I walked away when they said $20. This is for a 30v 2.8. Who sets these prices? I'm going to try Clair. At least I got to check out an S4, although I didn't drive it.

I heard this from a good friend of mine that works at AoA. Go to Clair Parts and get the oem ones at a discount...then give to the dealer during those services that the filter is not done.
