i replaced my ignition switch, took off the airbag like an idiot, now i can't get the light off..
i have vag-com, but don't know about how to go about doing anything particularly complicated...

Its also quite possible that
another control module connected to the data bus is causing a communication error, or an aftermarket HU is connected to the data bus when it shouldn't be.
To test this theory, start removing control module fuses and see if you can't restore communication with the airbag module that way. It has worked for me in the past to eliminate faulty modules.

Refer to your fuse card
And remove them one at a time. The fuse card will tell you which fuses are for each control module, some modules will have more than one fuse.
