I swear I know how to drive :) Clutch smell after EVERY drive...
Hey all. I had my clutch replaced because the dealer blamed my tranni problems on it. I then still had tranni problems and they gave me a new (rebuilt?) transmission. Now, after most EVERY drive I go on I smell clutch. I never had this problem with the old clutch (and shredded transmission) and my driving style has only improved now that the clutch actually grips. I've already put a few hundred (maybe thousand) miles on the new transmission and clutch already and I don't think I can attribute the smell to a "new" clutch anymore. Should I go to the dealer and bug them again or are they going to tell me that I'm some shmuck who doesn't know how to drive his car? Has this happened to anyone else and could this very well be a mechanical problem?

I would bring it back (or perhaps consult another dealer).
I would also get that SS out of the car, and call AoA, and make sure they know this car has been in for repeated transmission work.
If you smell clutch, odds are there is a problem, and if you continue to drive it, when the clutch eventually (prematurely fails), the dealer will probably open up the mess and say you're abusing the car. They may even go so far as to convince AoA that you should be denied any more transmission services based upon the history of the vehicle. The only way to counteract all this is to log everything that appears out of the normal. Burning clutch smell when you haven't abused the car is certainly out of the ordinary.

My foot doesn't rest on the pedal, but I do keep it over it while I'm between shifts on accel.
I realize it's a bad habit, but there is no pressure on the clutch. Maybe I'll bring it to my dealer where I got the car, but I don't know if I have much more faith in them than the one I've been going to here.
