Default What everyone seems to forget about is what kind of snow it is makes the difference.

I can start stop in about 18" max of say "Sierra Cement" and even less in wetter storms back east. What quattro or any AWD/4WD can handle all depends on water content of the snow really.

Default Tahoe would be a Lake and region "Heavenly" "Kirkwood" would be resorts.

I didn't say I was going up the face of "Gun Barrel," but I wish they would do a hill climb here somewhere in the snow.

Default 2nd. I've been in deep snow where the car would sort of pop to the top and just keep going

you could stop and feel it sink to the floor but carefull starting and it would just pop back up and go. I've only gotten stuck once where I had to get out and shovel. I backed up onto a drift about 22" deep. Just picked it up in the center and that was it.

Default I do 80mph through 24" of snow...

but I have a chipped S4...it can do 90+ easily, cuz it has better quattro.

Go underneath the back of your car and take a picture (or a video if you like). Post it, and we'll tell you that you got scammed.

Default Quattro + snow tires and you can go through some deep snow

I had to remove my snow tires two weeks ago because of a belt shift on one of the tires. So I went back to my summer tires. Well, remember that snow that hit CT Sunday... 20+ inches... I am now a believer in snow tires.

I will never go through a winter again without good snow tires. I fish tailed all over the place, slipped and slid through stop signs. It was not safe.

Get some snow tires and you will see\feel the difference.
