I think my brakes are going...do you replace pads only or pads and rotors?

Default I think my brakes are going...do you replace pads only or pads and rotors?
When I stop they are making a grinding kind of noise, kind of like I am driving on rocks...I am pretty sure it's the rotor...so where is a good place to get them? I don't track the car, nor do I plan on tracking it, so stoptechs etc are WAY out of my budget...

Default it would be safe to assume that pads and rotors are gone
replace both immediately, i had that happen on my explorer and the brakes failed on me going 85mph on a highway.

Default get cross drilled rotors on ebay, theyre pretty cheap
you can get inexpensive pads at stealer or autozone
front +back replacement about $380 DIY

Default you can get all the parts you need at ECS Tuning...
I love my A8 setup with porterfield R4-S

Get raybestos from Autozone/pep boys if you don't need performance pads

Default ebay's cheaper, waaaaaaaaay cheaper
you can get brembos zimmermanns, you name it for about $250, all four. + pads

plus I run Porterfields which are $200 for all 4...nevermind rotors...

Default Get Remsa Gold pads...AudiSport uses Remsa pads, but different compound.
when you buy pads get new rotors so there new meat to meet the pads. call Randy at 1-888-489-2834. and ask about the Zimmermann and Resma Gold package deal he will hook you up.

Default replace rotors when they are at minimum thickness
