Default I think the new A4, espec. the 3.0, will fall through the cracks...

and lose market share.
Saw the new A4--3.0, tiptr. Impressions:

Ride and handling--excellent
Outside looks--nothing special
Inside--nothing special

The 1.8T will prob. sell ok, but those younger
buyers wanting sportiness and looks might go for
a used S4 (or A4) which have better of both...

Those wanting more luxury probably won't spring
38K for the 3.0! (the S4 is a better choice now)
or they'll pay extra for the more luxurious A6. In the upper 30K range there are also better choices (like Saab 9-5, etc.) which give a lot more car for the money.

FYI - a loaded '01 2.8 was $38k. You get more car for the $$$ with the '02.

Default Yes--but the '01 was still beautiful and special...

and people may not pay that for the more average-looking '02's. I'm not talking about Audi enthusiasts, but people who are comparing cars with
an open mind.

Very true, the near luxury market is very, very competitive now.

I love the new A4. It looks really taut, especially from the side. Give it some time.
