i think they gave me the wrong oil filter

i have a 1997 audi a4 quattro 12v 2.8L,

I am changing my oil and relized that my previous oil filter is a bit deeper almost twice the size of the one i just got from audi. the parts sdhop is closed otherwise i'd just call them.

How bad is it for me to have the 4 cyl oil filter on a v6. am i just going to shortern my oil change interval ? or will i actually be doin harm to my engine ?

any thoughts anyone ?

123FL078-115-561-J-DSF oil filter
is the part number for what i have now...

please help

078-115-561-J is the listed filter for the 2.8L. I have seen height differences in the OEM oil

filters, depending on the manufacturer.

ahh, i see, i wasn't sure if it was the wrong one or not

ahh, i see, i wasn't sure if it was the wrong one or not... i was just worried that it was the wrong one since the previous one was so damn big. If i didn't know better i would have thought the larger sized filter was for a BUS lol
