I was told something that was a bit troubling re: DBW cars and TT installs

please verify this for me as I would like to install my TT.
This is what's told to me: When you bypass the alarm system by wiring it to the TT, you eventually end up with "bad short" fault codes in the ECU. It was theorized that the computer needs to ground itself to some part of the engine etc (this part I got lost when it was explained to me) so it throws a fault code. Now whether this is something that is detrimental to the car I don't think so. But has anyone w/ DBW w/ TT install and acccess to a VAG tool ever encountered this thing?
Again it's only on the DBW cars.
