I wanna go lower in the front, you think the H&R Race Spring Set would be too low?

The previous owner thinks he put in the <a href="<a href=">Eibach Pro-Kit Spring Set</a> but he's not sure.

I like the stance of the rear suspension but I think the front is too high, do you think the <a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Fsuspension%2Fsuspension.jsp%3F% 26make%3DH%2526R%26model%3DRace%2BSpring%2BSet%26g roup%3DRace%2BSpring%2BSet%26autoMake%3DAudi%26aut oModel%3DA4%2B2.8L%26autoYear%3D1996%26autoModClar %3DQuattro%26partNum%3D29996.1%26perfCode%3DA">H&a mp;R Race Spring Set</a> would scrape my tires?

Pull off the rims and check out the part number on the springs.

Default what shocks?....

i had the pro-kit springs with bilstein sports and the front was higher. i ended up adjusting the perches on the rear up 10mm to level it out. wheel well height ended up at 25.5" all around.

Default from what I recall, Race is pretty damned low.

I haven't seen too many people running it recently but a few years ago it seemed a pretty popular pairing with grooved Bilsteins. I would find out for certain what you have currently, as that will most likely affect the end result.

By the way, love the Europa Blue.

Default From what others have said, you'll probably have to roll the fenders.

JAFO's ride height of 25.5" all the way around seems to be the most popular compromise between aesthetics and function. Much lower than that and you'll most likely be bottoming out a lot.

Default You don't want to go below 25-1/4 inches from ground to the top of the fender well....

Anything below that transforms your car into a BUMP/RATTLE/BAD KIDNEYS machine. The more you lower the front, the more under-steer you'll introduce which will make you very unhappy.

I'm at 25-1/2 inches in the front and need to bump it up to 25-3/4 (maybe 25 5/8") to improve comfort and reduce under-steer. It means my front will go from level with the back to ever so slightly above it (similiar to what you have now)....but it's worth the payoff.

If this is all just for looks then it's NOT going to be worth it. RACE on any manufacturer's packaging = uncomfortable ride.

I'd recommend biting the bullet and saving up for fully adjustable coilovers or finding someone with exactly your model car with an aftermarket spring/shock set you like and have had a chance of test driving. The second recommendation is basically impossible, I know.

Good luck
