I need to match the cool red LED exactly. was a cd player an option in that year? Can I just get a changer and run it off the "concert" (or do I have the symphony.

...but yes, you can hook up a CD-changer to your factory head-unit, all A4's are pre-wired for the changer from the factory. The CD-changer is roughly $250 or so.

It will replace the concert - plug and play... but mucho $$$ do a search for more info.
BTW - if you have Bose - you have a Symphony. Either way you can just get a chnger which is the cheapest option.

I got the changer from Clair. It probably took 45 minutes to put in. No problems.
You might be able to get a compatible changer cheaper, but I didn't want to deal with complications, so I bought the Audi part.
Amendment: My head unit is the Concert (non-Bose). I upgraded my speakers to MB Quarts (big difference).

...Bose was available with all the headunits:
Delta
Concert
Symphony
Regardless of whether the A4 had Bose or not, the headunit was the same, only coded for Bose or not coded for Bose.

96-98.0 was the Delta, then 98.5-99.0 was Concert - all of them Bose or not. IIRC 99.5s had the Concert w/ non-Bose and the Symphony for the Bose unit. I am guessing that 2000+ were all Symphony no matter what.
I could be wrong - but I remember 99.5 ppl with non-Bose upgrading to Symphony and had to replace the console peices and HVAC unit.
You are right they can all be coded differently I changed mine to say Bose for a while...

with the 6 disc changer in the front? Will it fit? How much? Where to buy? Who to install?
