i went to ROADONE this weekend! 220mi worth of track time! LARGE PIC
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/registry/pictures/roadonemorning.JPG"></center><p>it was amazing! i had the greatest time, i would recommend doing this to anyone, i will prob be attending the next one too, cost was about 700$ after food and gas (had to get that 100 octane at the track) the price for the class includes everything you need, incuding hotel and food at the track, saftey crews etc...... there was always an instructor to have ride along, half an hour sessions on and off track between two groups of no more than about 30 allowed at each event to ensure max track time.
i went to bob bondurant last august and had a blast, and when my parents purchased a SLK 230 kompressor recently i was itching to share the fun, so i got my so pops and we went, every thing was great other than the four hour drive from san diego!
i found i could keep up with almost all the cars out there exept those damn littile BMW M coupe's
there were 2 in the advanced group and they would pass me in the straights, and most though the M3's had more power they werent a prob except on the back straight where power really matters but they were prob holding back. and i was amazed to be lapping a 2000 M5! they have near 400 hp right? i was also passing boxter S's, some other porches,bmw Z's, 3's, and kept up with a TRACK 2002 driven by the school owner
i got a chance to put the SLK through its paces too, i was suprised at the handling but dissapointd in its power, it had the auto-tip, so that took away from the expierience of driving, and now i see whe the tip owners get a chip to shorten shift lag.

STOCK BRAKES SUCK! my pads are "chunky" on the leading edge, brake fade was very noticable, guess im gonne need new brakes to push those brake zones any deeper. hehe
