Default I will never buy a AUDI again

My 2001 A4 1.8, water pumb went at 62k it took done the timming belt which trased the engine. the dealer VALENTI of watertown CT, told me a need a new engine for $8700 whitch AUDI will only pay $2600 of. When I told Valenti I could not afford a new engine they told me my bill was $500. They chared me $500 on a car I bought there to tell me my timming belt went, I kenw that. This car has been a total lemon, it has had a new transmition, breaks, oil sludging thing, it was down for 6 weeks whem the coils went.
I don't know what to do with it know, I can't see putting a new engine it I may sell it for parts, it's hard to belive the my $30k car is junk after 62k miles.

Default If it's out of warranty, take it to an independant, get a used engine from a salvage yard...

sorry for your misfortune, you are not the first, you will not be the last.

Sounds like you need a better dealer. Oh, and maybe a spelling lesson or 2.

Default doesnt sound like a lemon to me yet

Should have done the timing belt, waterpump, belt tensioner and roller at 60k.

Coils fail once in a while... its a fact of life with your AWM engine.

Brakes... OMGHI2reality they dont last forever, now if your calipers failed or lines failed thats another story... but rotors/pads are wear items on all cars.

Transmission... that happens once in a while but its not related to any of your other problems and once in a while a gearbox will need replacing or a component inside of it. Given that most dealers dont have the tooling and training to rebuild gearboxes profitably they just replace em.

Sludge... car was being given the wrong oil at the wrong intevals. Sad but true.

So where is the lemon part. Sounds to me like you are just in need of a honda, this audi thing might not be suited for you.

Default I dont think I'd want a 1.8T motor from a yard

an engine with an unknown history with inherent lubrication problems (user related) is probably not the sort i'd want to buy from a shady source like a parts yard. Way too many ways to get a "powerful handling" on that deal.
