Compare apples to apples...
The 1.8T is less expensive than a 325Xi with simmilar options. A friend has a 325Xi with H-K sound, Xenons, and the sports package. The car was on the high end of 35k. No roof, no CD, no alarm, no climate control...
Compare this to my 1.8T Avant 33k for Tip, Bose, Xenons, roof, auto dim mirrors, heated seats, in-dash CD... The gap is there, espically with the quattro/X cars.
The 325Xi does have more options to choose (leather, power seats), which widens the price gap further.
Oh, and BMW does not build V6 engines, they have I-6 (inline) engines.
