Default Ideal Tire Pressure for Yok IG-10 snow tires

Just wondering if anyone had an 'ideal' tire pressure for Yokohama IG-10 snow tires. I love them just wondering about the tire pressure

Thanks,
Dan

Use the same pressure for soft compound snow tires?

Default Its says 36, i use 35. Its all about driver preference.

I'm not too concerned about the extra grip a lower pressure would give me so I use the same pressure for summer and winter tires.

Default It's better to have the higher air pressure in the winter.

It'll make the tire thinner which gives you more traction than a fat tire in snow.

Default Weird; I've heard just the opposite

Lower pressure will increase the tire contact surface, reducing skidding. Then again, this might be ancient advice not recommended anymore.

Default snow is different. a higher pressure will give you less contact area, but more pressure to cut

through the snow, so you dont float above a thin layer of snow. surface pressure=force(weightof the vehicle)/area(contact patch).

now does it really make that big of a difference? highly doubt it.

Default Considering in the winter you usually encounter both snow and ice

its pretty much a draw. You can leave your tires real hard and have less control on ice or you can make them soft and have less cotrol on snow. Either way I think the difference isn't going to be too noticable.

Default I always pump my tires to 32 psi as it says in my gas door.

Since I believe the difference really comes in the tire width itself. Like a 235 tire compared to a 205 or something. The 205 would have better traction on snow nd slush but less on ice as has been stated. That's how I view it.
