If I am swapping 2000 1.8tqm ECU for chipped of same make and model anything I should be warry of?

All A4s are drive by wire starting in '00, so you cannot swap with any prior years. And they are all 170hp starting in '01, so you can's swap with them as well.
But, when it comes to different trannies and drivetrains, the ECU has to be coded to your specs.

That a 2000 5spd Quattro 1.8 Ecu will be ok in another of same, or are the trannies and drivetrain different? Sorry not too mechanically inclined here. Its a straight swap my stock chip (00 1.8t Quattro and 5spd) for a GIAC (00 1.8t Quattro and 5spd). Aren't all 5spd Quattro's in 2000 a "P" code ECU?
