If I get a parking ticket and the cop didn't sign it, do I have any grounds to fight it?

Well, the official ticket is "undesignated parking" - "no SV permit"..
..an "SV" permit is a service vehicle permit on Stanford campus. I could justifiably say that I was confused because where I parked is somewhere where people always park when loading stuff in and out of the car. I was moving out of my dorm room and left it there too long. But as far as they know I was in the process of moving when I got the ticket. Since people *always* park there while loading/unloading, and there actually isn't a sign anywhere saying SV only (there is usually such a sign in real parking spots), I might be able to get away with it... I'll have to see about that.
