I read this in the archives and was wondering if anyone has done this... I think I have air in my coolant system... Not sure though...

Default you can drive around for 5-10minutes with the heat on and the windows down...

Default Re: I've done that... and it cools down, but once the heat is off, it heats back up which is why...

I think that the air bubble is trapped in there... but I'm not sure cause I am not great with cars... Do you know if that method works though?

Default Re: overheats 1-2 marks above...no leaks...smelling coolant though...more inside

Only when I am not catching air (traffic) It heats up. When I turn the heat on it cools it down and someone told me that is because I am getting the coolant to circulate when it is on. When the heat is off it doesn't seem to circulate and only stays trapped... Any input?

Default maybe your fan is broke

when you turn on the heat, the aux fan turns on and cools the car back down. friends vw jetta would overheat when stopped too...

Default Re: aux fan only turns on when the AC is on... and I replaced the clutch fan on the electric fan...

Maybe I am wrong though, but I thought the auz fan only came on with the AC...
