Default No, oil smoke from outside the engine would not cause a false reading at the O2 sensor...

once you're moving, that smoke gets blown out under the car.

Default Same thing, tomato-tomatoe

coolant temperature sensor. Other than space for my big American hands, doesn't look like it'll be too hard to change....haven't messed with it yet.

My MAF readings are good, I don't suspect it being bad. If it ends up being that, I'll take the known good MAF off your hands though.

What all have you replaced, why did you replace the items? Did they test bad or are you just throwing parts at it like I'm planning to do?
Did the replacement parts have any impact on the trims?

Default While I guess that you could argue that you are burning oil, ...

...what you really have is a leak. Burning oil refers to oil being leaked into the combustion chamber and ignited with the fuel air mixture. You have a simple leak that will not have any effect on emissions.

Default Once you get the throttle air intake duct off, plenty of room for your hands

Yes, I was just throwing parts, since it is easier and more accurate than trying to test existing parts, and if nothing changes (as it did not), I can just sell them off as slightly used and it cost me the same or less than having tried to test them all out.

Fuel trim problem was unaffected by all these things. The only thing that helped for a while, and I don't how or why, is when I had a repair shop do an advanced computer diagnostic and find nothing after keeping my car for 3 days and the I take the car back unrepaired, lo and behold fuel trim on bank 1 held steady around -10.2% until I had to reset the computer several weeks later because the coil went bad and two cylinders misfired. I sure would like to know how they "conditioned" the ECU during or as a result of their testing to make it behave better, but of course they won't tell me even if they knew about it.

Default Yes, actually I was asking about if I have both.

I have a leak, yes, but how does the O2 sensor see oxygen correctly when it is suffocated?

Default Yeah, I'm not taking that duct off ever again. Every single time I end up dropping that stupid

little bolt, and have to spend an absurd amount of time fishing it out.

Actually, I'll take it off....I'm all talk =P

I have to get the sec air incorrect flow taken care of first, that triggers my CEL faster than the too rich code....then I'll adress the real problem.

to rule out burning oil - do a compression and a leak down test

Default I tied a string onto that bolt, as well the ECT pin, before taking them out

They did fall, but the other end of the string was tied to my arm so there was no fishing involved.

After the ECT pin was re-inserted, cut the string off.

Default Audi says that up to one quart per thousand miles is OK, so figure that...

...the OXS can handle at least that without choking.

You really need to spend some time fixing the oil leaks and vacuum leaks. As I said initially, you are barking up the wrong tree worrying about consumption.
