Yesterday I posted the "I WANT MY A4" thread and, lo and behold, today I received a fax from my dealer with my VIN number! Coincidence? Hmmmmm...<p>For those of you monitoring your own cars I thought you might find my progress a possible point of reference:<p>Order Entry: 12/23/98<br>Prod Release: 03/11/99<br>Prod Complete: 04/12/99 (Hooray, got my VIN number!)<br>Ship Loaded: 00/00/00<br>Ship In Transit: 00/00/00<br>Port Arrived: 00/00/00<br>Carrier Release: 00/00/00<br>Truck/Rail Load: 00/00/00<br>Dealer Delivered: 00/00/00<p>I'm thinking no sooner than May 15... Anyone like to wager?<br>

May 15 sounds reasonable. However, the wait from port arrival here to dealer delivery can be maddeningly long. My Avant sat at port in Wilmington, DE, for about two weeks waiting on its trailer for a truck to hook to show up to haul it to NC. My car was built mid-May last year, arrived stateside by early June and arrived at the dealership around the 21st. <p>Be patient. It's worth it.

Sounds familiar. My car sits even now in Wilmington, DE where it has been for 3 weeks already!
