lol not that expensive, mine went out cost me $220 to have it overnighted for a OEM one

Default I soldered mine in the summer, still holding up.

The pin (connector) side is definitely solderable, as is the wire. The secret to the pin side is to remove all the heat sink gel completely from around it. Then scratch the surface to clean it and put the soldering iron on. Keep it down for probably at least a minimum of a minute then try to apply solder to the pin. Once the pin takes the solder, move the wire into it. As for the other side, the FET side, I think it may be virtually impossible to get enough heat on that to solder it. It is simply too well heat sunk. You would need a soldering plate (heated plate) and perhaps a reflow machine. That is if the metal will take solder at all.
