Default Ignition Coil

My ignition coils are starting to go bad, I have been trying to find a quality replacement, can someone please recommend a good brand?

That's going to depend on the year and model of your car.

you can get them from the VW dealer for ~$25 each. ECS has the OE VW/Audi set of for for ~$78. I'd stick with the oem. Seem to last longer in my experience (~260,000miles)

With a 2.8 (1999) can the coils be replaced individually? I'm getting misfires on 1 and 6- which share a coil. I see entire sets. Or should I replace the spark wires?

I have had really good luck with BERU. I seem to notice alot of Meyle, STI, and OEM ones failing. I had a customer only get 20k out of a set of OEM dealer installed coils.

Your misfire is something else. Leaky valve cover, plugs, wires, coolant temp sensor are likely causes.
