either one with or without studs? The roads around here are usually dry, but sometimes you get caught with snow or ice... Would studs make too much noise?

I live in Pittsburgh btw.

Default studs are illegal in most states

205s will be fine. If you get frequent really deep snows, then I would suggest the 195s. Otherwise you can stick with 205

Default IIRC they should be ok from Nov 1 to April 15 in PA. I should go with 205's then. So far 1 for no...

studs...

Default You don't need studs.

If you're driving around on hardpacked snow and ice, then you should consider studs. For other conditions there are a variety of snow/ice tires available that should work

Default Thanks. I wasn't really looking forward to spend the extra $60 for studs, but I was told that you

couldn't add them after having driven on the tires.

Default You can't add them later. And I LOVE mine, big big difference.

I live on the coast of Maine and we get a huge amount of ice/hardpack and freezing rain etc. They also plow terribly around here and the roads just get very glazed.

I wouldn't give up my studs for anything... but I have to have them off after April 15 = no problem.
