It seems that all the 1.8t's here don't have block heaters or oil heaters.

Default I don't think I have ever seen one offered for our cars...

I don't know if it is the placement of the freeze plug and the proximity of the turbo that the install isn't very easy. I had put them on my '83 Jetta, brothers '87 Fox & '90 Jetta, and mothers '87 Jetta & '91 Passat.
If I had found one for my car I would have put it in. Although I never put them in my NG or 7A motors.

Default I guess that's why I've never seen one. : ) When I did the k04 last year...

I was too busy in the ER getting my finger repaired to bother looking for a freeze plug.

I got an oil pan heater (mounts on the bottom of the 2.8 pan), from TightTT last year, works well

FWIW, many companies make dip sticks that heat the oil in a wet sump, will do what you need cheap
