I'm so clever I can't stand it. ;-) (long)

Just finished 5 out of 6 pieces on the aforementioned bright silver interior trim install. It's BEAUTIFUL. It ties in absolutely perfectly with the silver exterior and contrasts nicely with the onyx interior. I can't understand why Audi wouldn't offer the bright silver trim on the A4 as an option given just how good it looks. O.K., enough blowing my own horn. Here are some details:
First off, I followed the FAQ more or less and all the instructions were pretty dead on, except the instructions for removing the center console and passenger side dash assembly. My 2000 MY must be slightly different than the car that was used in the FAQ. I will try to acquire assembly instructions from my friend at RUSNAK in Pasadena.
Secondly, I had to pretty much destroy the clips that were holding the trim on to remove the old trim. I sure am glad that I bought about twenty spares from my dealer. It only took them 2 days to special order the clips and they were 70 cents apiece. Alas, I didn't have enough clips to mount the passenger-side dash trim even if I were able to get it the old one off. I'll procure some more when I get my assembly instructions.
Third, I learned that you have to be VERY wary of these little rubber pads that sit between the tabs and slots that are used to hang the interior door panel. They unseat and become misalligned fairly easily and you must be sure that they are seated in their respective holes properly before attempting to re-hang the interior door panel, or it won't hang correctly and may rattle.
Last tip: I found that the perfect tool for snapping the new clips on the pegs to be a socket wrench head (forgot the size). When I write a FAQ (after completing the last section) I will make note of the size and a few other tips.
Thanks to all that wished me luck, I've got no leftover pieces. ;-)
