would I get if I install the s/c. My car has 59k and I would like to keep if for three more years before I upgrade to the S4. I'm not even sure if it's worth putting the s/c with that many miles. Any thoughts...

thanks.

I allway weary of that stuff because of increased strain on the engine. Wait and get a new S4

IIRC the PES SC puts you in the 290+ range.

Default Audi reduced the displacement of the V6 to 2.7L for the bi-turbo to strengthen the engine...

So I would imagine there is some risk with the 290+HP the PES is putting out.

Default I don't think you need to worry about those miles.

I am in the same boat - I will keep my car for another three years. I plan to save the 5K for the S4 (a 2004 model). By then I can save up an additional 3K to put down on the new car. The PES is a nice addition though. It would certainly make your car a real sleeper

Default The PES kit only develops 6-10 psi, IIRC

But the 2.8 doesn't have sodium valves or the lower compression ratio of the 2.7, so I dunno.

have any superchargers from PES blown up? They've had the G1 out for a long time, the G2 is almost a year old. SUrely we'd have heard here if they blew a motor.

I don't know and I doubt it, but if so another reason not to supercharge.

Default I'd imagine the stress on the engine would take a long time to blow the engine, but ..

the way i look at it the engine is designed to run with zero boost or pressure inside the chamber. I would save the money and buy a car with an engine that was ment to handle the boost.

Just my 2cents though. I sure as hell would like 290+ horses though that would be fun as hell.

Save the 5 grand and put it towards a new or used S4. You'll be much happier I bet.
