Default Give the whole sensor a good cleaning from various angles

You can see in this photo where air flows through the sensor, that's the part that really matters.

Default That should work, though I'd avoid putting too much in the bag.

If you're using rubbing alcohol, make sure that everything dries before putting the MAF back in. The stuff you can get at drug stores is usually 20-30% water, so it may take a while to dry.

I used the CRC MAF cleaner and it worked really well. It has a strong, narrow spray that helps get all the guck out.

Default thanks guys, last question, can i re-assemble everything and then just wait about 30 min

for it to dry? its been sitting drying now for about 25 min, i see little wet spots but not many, is it ok to re-assemble and then just wait another 15 min or so?

Would you say that is sufficient the alcohol i used is 30% water

Thanks guys

Default Eh , I would let it dry out for like a day or two if you submerged the whole thing

Water thats inside takes kinda longer to dry out....

Default Personally I wouldn't run it that soon after soaking the whole thing!

Maybe somone else will chime in...i'm sure the Alcohol helps it dry alot faster. The CRC stuff I used evaporated immediatley.

You could always just try it and see what happens, worse thing could happen is you needing a new MAF :P

Default

That's why the bespoke MAF cleaner is preferred, that stuff dries in a matter of minutes.

Default well i soaked the thing at 445 or so, if I wait till 7 I would think in about 2 hours ...

alcohol would 100% evaporate ... no?

Anyone want to chime in?

Thanks again guys for your help/opinions.
