Default I'm very curious about PES's claim about their clutch

I recently had their stage 2 clutch installed along with a lightened flywheel by unorthodox racing, but strangly enough, the stage 2 clutch is SOFTER then the OEM.....now isn't a stronger clutch supposed to have a heavier pedal pressure? i had always thought so, maybe i am wrong......anyone else get a PES clutch installed??

Default I believe their clutches are sourced from SPEC.

I have the Spec stage 3 clutch that I had purchased and installed by PES (re-used OEM flywheel). The pedal pressure is the same as stock for me. The clamping force though is A LOT stronger.

Default My tech didn't like the quality........

When he looked at the carbon kevlar disk, he said it was rather skinny.....maybe stronger, but he was disapointed non the less. What did you pay for labor??

Default A lot.

I forget since I just chunked stuff together at the time. I think it was in the ballpark of $700 or so.

I'm doing the next clutch/flywheel install with friends.

Default You serious???

I would never do a flywheel and clutch install myself, too much margin for error. Then again i don't have a lift at my house......everything but a damn lift go figure...

Default Yup. I was hanging out with RAD69 when he did his flywheel/clutch...

Of course he had lift access and he is a very good wrench. I've already tackled, TBs, waterpumps, suspensions, and exhausts. Trannies and clutches are next on the list. :-)

Default Sure but it will be a while (I hope). I expect my clutch to last for at least 30k if not more.

Then I go lightweight flywheel.
