Impressions about TDL Racing and Alcon B-Type Calipers (large PIC)

On Friday morning, I drove from Pittsburgh to Detroit to visit TDL racing. The primary purpose of my trip was for a big brake installation, but I also had a few other reasons for going.
I want to start off by saying that Lloyd and Byron of TDL were very professional and treated me very well. I was very impressed with their "get down to business" attitudes.
Now to the good stuff...these brakes are incredible. I got the Alcon B-Type 4 piston caliper and 13" Coleman Rotor set up. On the way home, the car was loaded down, so I didn't do any sudden stops... However, once I got home and unloaded the car...all I can say is WOW! I really didn't expect this much of a difference. The car stops on a dime, and has never been more fun to drive. Its so easy to fly into the corners and feel confident that my brakes will slow me down instantly.
I can truthfully say that the big brake upgrade is by far my favorite thing I've done yet. My previous favorite mod had been Xenon headlights, but now there's no comparison. All of the "go fast" upgrades that I've done don't even compare to the brakes...
Now for the bad news...well, the brakes don't fit under my 17" AEZ Radons...nor do they look like they'll fit with a 10mm spacer. Therefore, I will be selling the Radons soon and have already ordered a set of 17" OZ F1 Plus. In the meantime, TDL let me borrow two 17" wheels that the brakes do fit under. The car looks a little funny now with two different wheels, but I very much appreciate TDL loaning them to me. My 17" Ronal R28s do not fit either, but should easily fit with the addition of 5mm spacers. I think that I'll probably forgoe the spacers and order another new set of wheels this spring...
The other things that I had done were the installation of a Schraeder valve on the fuel rail for fuel pressure readings, and to run some wires for me for my A/F meter (details on this coming soon). We also spent a lot of time discussing what my next engine modification will be, and I'll be letting everyone know what it is as soon as I work out all the details...
In the meantime, check out the BRAKES section of my site to see some more pictures!

Awesome, Scott! If those things work half as good as they look, I'm sure they're incredible...
I can't wait until I'm ready to do a big brake upgrade of my own.
Did Lloyd and Byron make any mention of it? I'm hoping they're able to work something up that will squeeze 11" or 12" Colemans & Boxster S calipers under the stock 16's. I guess we'll see.
But I'm glad you're enjoying the new mods. Let me know when you have a free Saturday - maybe we can do Pittsburgh's first Krispy Kreme Run!

Good to hear, im thinking of heading to TDL in the spring
and have them install a AWE KO4 kit, a FMIC, port and polish my manifold, and make a inlet pipe. They are not too far from Chicago, and it would be nice to check them out, and maybe see what other goodies they have come up with by then.

Heh Ed, i said thinking :)
I emailed you a bunch of questions in followup to your response to my initial query (whew!). Need me to resend?
Like i said, either the KO4, or the SIII...i just gotta make the painful choice. But im not certain which way im going to go at this time.
Cheers

I believe its more than the StopTech, but call Lloyd at TDL to find out the different options.
