inside Driver door latch

inside Driver door latch
1998 a4 Q I unlocked the trunk and since the inside drives door latch will not open door. System locks and unlocks fine, just the inside latch won't work. Cable is good. Any ideas?

Driver side inside door latch quit working, this happened after I unlocked the car by using the key in the trunk lock. I have checked the cable it is OK. Car locks and unlocks fine from both doors and trunk. But driver side door inside latch will not open door, it feels and acts as if door is loocked
