Default Install help: I'm trying to replace the lower door moldings. Does it matter... *edit*

...if it's the front door? In my reply below I mentioned that sliding the molding over the clip farthest back on the front door looks like it's going to be pretty difficult. Any tricks or just ram-jam it on?

This is my first attempt at these and I've spent about 10 minutes swearing at the car. I've got the old one off obviously, but the clips are still attached to the door. Do you have to take the clips off and install them in the molding? If so, how the fvck do they come off? I attempted to slide the molding on to the clips with no success. It's very frustrating.

lube the new molding and slide it on over the clips...then add/tighten the screw inside the door.

Default iirc the clips stay on the door you need to look at the back of the molding.....

the area where the clips fit has reliefs in it. you start with the molding about an inch towards the rear of it's installed position and put it onto the clips and then slide it forward

Default It should be pretty easy, they just slide right on.

Default It SHOULD be...but it's not. Also...

...sliding the rear of the molding over the clip farthest back on the door looks like it's going to be a complete PITA.

Default It take a little fiddling and a bit of force, just have patience and make sure everything is clean

Also make sure the molding is straight, maybe use a little lube if necessary.
