Installed Huco ICM... still gets codes but drives fine?
This is the report from a very reliable source (friend), of whom I'm purchasing his car (99.5 1.8Q 5-speed). His ICM went south and the car ran like crap, he replaced it with a Huco and he reports that the car runs fine now, but still throws the same codes (misfire #2 I assume). He mentioned seeing the same thing here on the board, but I searched for quite a while and can't find it. Any advice? Maybe he wasn't able to clear the codes properly and it's just the old ones?

The code should not reappear with the new ICM installed. Have him clear the codes and verify that
car is still throwing the code. If it does, there is something else wrong. I, as well as many others, have HUCO ICM's and they work perfectly and don't cause any codes.

Re: The code should not reappear with the new ICM installed. Have him
Yeah we just talked and he said he cleared the codes with a standard code reader, but couldn't recall if they came back up immediately or after a week or so. He drove the car for a few months after installing the Huco, and said it ran great afterwards, just the same codes.
