I wanna do something with the stock intake on my 2.8q. I talked to a mechanic friend of mine and he said there is no point in getting an inlet tube since the 2.8q's come with "forced air induction tube". He said that its just worth it to get the K&N filter... Can anyone confirm what he is saying or give another reasonable suggestion??? Thanks

he is talking about is the tubing from the top of the grille into the airbox... all cars have this lol, and an intake will ALMOST always help.. djnelsen's well, thats a bit overboard, but i like it alot!

you are right... however, i had no better way of explaining it. However, i see you went with the inlet tube to redirect the airflow... is there a reason why you did that instead of the filter replacement?

the cone setup is more effective because it completely gets rid of the cork-like stock airbox.
The stock airbox is actually quite restrictive for the purpose of keeping the car nice and quiet. My setup is quite a bit louder than the stock airbox.

with a nice big ole cone on it, it sounds WONDERFUL (i.e. a VR6 w/ an intake makes it sound like it gains two cylinders under WOT)
