Default well, I don't shift like that, but I never had any issues with selecting a wrong gear ..

that I would have to worry about it either.

I keep my palm on the top of the shift **** during every shift. The movement is so natural, that I don't ever think about it.

Default I think the article is geared towards bmw drivers who have the UUC ss kit

My roommate has an e36 M3 with the UUC ss kit and it's a pain in the *** to shift (more so than the audi kits i've driven - UUC, Strat). I missed a shift or 2 the first time I drove his car, he didnt' have a very happy look on his face
