Default Interior temp control sensor (G56) threw a code 00785-intermittent operation

Damn thing thinks its cold out and is blowing hot air! Is this sensor replaceable on its own or is it an integral part of the climate control head ?

Checked on Vagcom forum but got nothing.

Default Maybe it's gunked up with dust sucked in by the fan?

If the sensor is covered with gunk, it will give erratic temperatures - just a thought.

I thought so as well. I used some compressed air to blow it out, but still get the code

Default I don't think it's part of the Auto Climate Control unit

Behind the intake below the radio there is a tube that draws air in via a fan - I believe that the interior temp sensor is down this tube, but have not actually removed it - I have removed the ACC unit and do not recall seeing a sensor on it.

Best bet (since no one else is responding) is to go have a look: you need to pull the radio out (don't have to disconnect it, just pull it out of the dash), then there are a few screws that hold the panel in place. You will need either the special radio-removal tools or I used a couple of flat metal fingernail files. Once in there you can see where the sensor is located and see if it's connected properly.

My A4 was recently blowing hot air on a hot day, I cleaned off the little dash grill and it's been fine since. I can't beleive that this alone solved the problem, but it's been fine since!

Please help, I have exactly this problem, vag reports 00785 - instrument panel temperature sensor (G56)
30-00 - interruption or short circuit to plus. I have a new air conditioner. It does not cool, only warm air comes out. Audi A3 8l 1.9 TDI, year 1997. Advise how to solve.
