Default Intersting........................

Cut & paste for Audi AZ website:

Campaign - 40G4: Suspension track control links, Front.
Models affected: A4, A6, A8, Prod Date: 1995 - 2000.

On some Audi vehicles (older models) there is a possibility of damage occurring to the sealing boots on the front track control links. This can lead to premature wear and, in isolated cases, failure of the track control links (for the most part on high-mileage vehicles).

This only applies to a limited number of vehicles built within a specific period.

Please contact your authorised Audi dealer to arrange a suitable booking at your convenience, quoting product campaign - 40G4.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audi.co.nz/customerservice/campaigns/campaign.asp?ArtID=1138448779">Audi NZ</a></li></ul>

Default I think that's for the tie-rods not the control arms.

We had that already in the states.

Default any one reads German?

from google:

does one of you have already the workshop action 40G4 - support arms four-steering wheel front axle over itself "are issued" to leave?
It concerns here the large recall action of Volkswagen/cAudi von Anfang May ' 04, with world-wide over 800.000 vehicles (in Germany approx. 400,000 Fz.) into the examination of the support arms into the workshops to be called up are. Vehicles with four-steering wheel front axle to approx. are concerned. BJ. 1999.
My A6 (Avant AFB ' 98) was concerned. I let the two wishbones exchange above on a side (the other side was successful to me) with the friendly one and asked for the recall action. The customer service human being said, the action 40G4 in the context of the wishbone exchange with is examined.
When afternoon fetching the two straight support arms had been exchanged actually free of charge. The necessary wheel alignment (by wishbone exchange) had not been charged likewise.
In principle no bad result! The car drives again very pleasantly and follows the steering movements substantially better (whether now by the new wishbones or the new support arms I cannot say unfortunately, there at the same time renewed)!<ul><li><a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&amp;sl=de&amp;u=http://community.dieselschrauber.de/viewtopic.php%3Ft%3D6270%26view%3Dprevious&amp;pre v=/search%3Fq%3D40G4%2Baudi%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3D UTF-8%26c2coff%3D1%26sa%3DG">googl
